When Dr. Ken Hadley, a psychologist from Edmond Oklahoma, received his first BBQ smoker for fathers day 10 years ago, his family didn't know that their gift would be the beginning of an all-new adventure. Dr. Ken soon discovered a passion and talent for cooking that he no one expected. Ken began smoking briskets for friends and family and developed a following of sorts with people saying that it was "the best BBQ they have ever had". Now, 10 years later, it has become Black Dogs BBQ.
Black Dog's BBQ gets its name from "Bucabe" a Black Lab/Chow-Chow mutt that Dr. Ken's daughter rescued when he was only a puppy. Now at almost 11 years old, "Buc", who resides in the family's back yard, has been witness to every moment of the business from the very beginning. Buc has been a trustworthy, loyal companion to Dr. Ken, his wife, and his children, thus earning him the right to be used as the face and name sake of Black Dog's BBQ.
